Welcome to my blog! I decided to change the title of this blog from "The Happy-Fun Bible Study Page" to more accurately reflect the wider range of subject material that I will be posting. The more I learn about Christianity, the more it becomes blatantly obvious that, despite what its adherents claim, God simply is not there for them. God is not guiding the churches, God is not answering prayers, God is not protecting little children from harm, and God is not concerning himself with the mundane doings of humanity. If he were doing any of this, the world would not look exactly as if people were making all the decisions and running the show. As far as I am concerned, a god who takes no part in human activities looks the same as a god who does not exist.

Why the doctrine of hell is immoral

1.) It is a lie. Nobody has ever proven the existence of such a place. Where is it? What does it look like? Who has been there to tell us what it is like? Since a soul is supposed to be an immaterial something-or-other, it has no nerve endings or brain, so how can it be made to suffer? No believer answers these questions because they can't. They have absolutely not the slightest bit of evidence that hell exists, yet they expect us to be scared of it. Hey, Christians, isn't it about time you outgrew your fear of monsters in the closet?

2.) It is a divisive doctrine, encouraging believers to adopt an us-vs.-them mentality. You know, "God loves us best, so we're going to heaven, but everyone else is evil and going to hell." If you can consign someone to everlasting suffering for no other reason than that you disagree with their beliefs, then it is not hard to treat them as less than human, as not quite as worthy of your love, respect, and kindness as your fellow believers.

3.) You must teach it to your children in order to keep the belief going strong. Imagine telling a child that he will go to hell to burn and scream and melt and scorch for all eternity, all because he was a bad boy and didn't repent of his sins. Don't kids have enough to be fearful of already?

4.) It proposes infinite punishments for finite crimes. No matter how bad a person was in real life, do they really deserve to be punished forever? People who think this simply have no concept of eternity. They aren't thinking about billions of eons from now; in fact, they aren't thinking at all, which is why they believe in hell in the first place.

5.) Why do Christians think they will be happy, carefree, and joyous in heaven if they know that their loved ones are suffering unimaginable pain in hell? Heaven will not be paradise for them, it will be a torment, because they will be fully aware that someone they loved dearly is being burned alive, or experiencing some other form of misery, just because God was angry that they didn't kiss his ass. I tell you, there is NO WAY that anyone could be happy under such conditions.

Now, some of them will say that their memories will be wiped so that they won't be aware of anything outside of heaven. I say that this is just another kind of hell, for who in their right mind would want to forget all the people they once knew and loved? Such a notion is reprehensible to all but the most brainwashed of morons. To teach this cruel, heartless bullshit to children should be considered emotional abuse.

6.) Christians who say they believe in hell are probably lying, to themselves as well as everyone else. If they truly believed in it, they would be far more careful about what they say and do, and we would not see so many Christians in the news practically every day, committing any number of crimes just as if there were no God at all hovering over them, ready to send them to hell at a moment's notice.

Hmmm, just as if there is no God.... Yep, that is EXACTLY how Christians behave.
